Sound Healing Meditations and Shamanic Ceremonies

As a sound healing practitioner and practitioner of Shamanic healing arts in Cedar Rapids, IA, I often combine these two forces in my work. One particular way is to create communal spaces where folks can tune into their inner voices, check in with the self, tend to the body, release anything as needed, and integrate peaceful frequencies. Each ceremony has a different intention - sometimes they align with holidays or celestial events - sometimes they don't. Most of the time, I tune into what Spirit has to say, and/or what the collective needs when "outlining" a ceremony. The details for upcoming ceremonies and sound healing meditations are below, along with their registration links. If you have questions, please feel free to email me directly.

Autumnal Harvest Gathering + Sound Healing

As the wheel turns and the days grow shorter, join us for an evening of community, reflection, and ceremony as we celebrate the autumn harvest.

This season invites us to pause and take stock of our own "harvest": the achievements, growth, and gifts of the past year. It also asks us to make space for what we've lost. Together, we'll hold room for both gratitude and grief, honoring the fullness of the year behind us.

Our evening will include:

🌾 A community harvest circle — sharing thanks for what we've grown and gathered this year, and honoring what we've released or lost.

🎶 A sound healing ceremony, facilitated by Laina Pilkenton.

🍁 A hands-on crafting activity using a natural item you bring from home.

🤝 A communal gift exchange to close out our time together.

🍵 A fall-appropriate beverage and light snacks will be available

✨ What to bring:

  • A natural item (a leaf, stone, feather, acorn, small gourd, etc.) that you'll take back home with you — this will be used in our crafting activity.
  • An item to give away as part of our gift exchange. Some ideas include: deer antlers, feathers, rocks, mead, wine, flowers, fruit, vegetables, incense, art, crystals, tea, leaves, or candles — anything that feels meaningful to share.
  • Comfort items for our sound healing meditation — a yoga mat, blanket, camping roll, and/or pillow to help you settle in and relax during the ceremony.

Come as you are, ready to give thanks, release what no longer serves you, and connect with fellow 21st-century pagans in community. Whether you celebrate it as Mabon, Haustblót, or Pumpkin Spice Season, you’re welcome in this space.
